Each one Found a Forever Home through the Humane Society


Have you ever rescued animals? I have a few times but this last time is really a feel good story. My husband and I went for a walk on a brisk day and as we were leaving, I heard a meow in the weeds. When I dug into the weeds, a black and white kitten popped out and was meowing and all over me. Soon her sister popped out too.

My husband and I wrapped them up in my coat and took them home with us. We couldn't keep them as he's allergic to cats. Once home, I called the Humane Society but they had no foster homes till Monday and it was Saturday when we found them. So we made them a bed and a playground in our garage attached to our house. Our hope is that they would find forever homes but for now, we gave them as much love and attention we could. I created NOSEY KITTENS because we all love to be kissed with their noses and whiskers. It's their way to communicate to us "Thank you for loving me"

We wish I could save all animals from harm but at least we saved two.

I'm a photographer so I have photographed animals up for adoption for the Humane Society for their Pet of the Week in the local newspaper. I photographed Wigwam and Tepee and then made a memory of their noses and whiskers to create a unique piece of artwork that tells the story that has a happy ending.

We didn't expect to come home with two kittens when we went for a walk, but we did. They were hungry and we fed them. They were thirsty and we gave them water. They were cold and lonely and we gave them warmth and love. They smelled stinky like the weeds they used for shelter, but we didn't want to bathe them at the time. Our hearts were warm in helping defenseless kittens.

On Monday we drove Wigwam and Tepee to the Human Society. We weren't sure how long they would be homeless and felt bad we couldn't keep them.

But the good news is, they were adopted within the week they were at the Humane Society. They are now in their forever home.

We were so pleased with the help of the Humane Society, who were able to find the perfect homes for our two rescue kittens. They were a little scared at first, but once we got them home, they quickly warmed up to us. We were able to give them the love, attention, and care they needed to become healthy and happy cats. We were sad to see them go, but we were happy knowing they would be in a loving home with people who would give them the best life they could. We hope they are doing well and that they are happy in their new homes.
