COUNTRY HORSES CAUGHT IN A SNOW STORM In Wallowa County Oregon

It's Christmas Day and We Went for a Country Drive

Horses are truly amazing animals and they can certainly add a special touch to a landscape photograph. It's wonderful I have the opportunity to live in a place where I can easily access the rural landscapes and enjoy the beauty of nature. Wallowa County is known for its stunning natural beauty and the many opportunities it offers for outdoor activities. I have the opportunity to go hiking, fishing, or just enjoy the scenery, there are many ways to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. On this day I photographed WINTER IN WALLOWA, we went on a country drive on Christmas day when I said to STOP THE TRUCK! With my camera in hand I jumped out a started shooting this magical scene.

I had a great opportunity to capture a beautiful winter scene in Wallowa County. Winter landscapes can be particularly striking, with the stark white of the snow contrasting against the darker colors of the trees and other natural features. I was hoping I to get a great shot of this scene, maybe it could be a fantastic addition to my local photo club's calendar. It would be a great way to showcase the natural beauty of the area, especially in the winter months. I hoped I captured the shot I envisioned!

I have a strong connection to Wallowa County and have come to appreciate the many benefits of living in a rural community. I have access to clean air and the natural beauty of the area, including the mountains, lakes, and rivers. Living in a place with no traffic and no heavy, horn-beeping traffic can be very peaceful and enjoyable. And having trails and wildlife right outside your door can provide many opportunities for outdoor activities and enjoying nature. It was rewarding to raise my family in such a beautiful and peaceful place.

I've developed a passion for photography and inspired to take my camera with me wherever I go. Photography can be a wonderful way to capture and appreciate the beauty of the world around us, and living in a place like Wallowa County with its stunning natural landscapes provides many opportunities for taking remarkable photographs. I feel blessed I've had the opportunity to capture some magical shots of the area, and I'm sure my photos are a great way to share the beauty of Wallowa County with others. I hope to continue to find inspiration in the natural beauty of the area.

I had a bit of an adventure while trying to capture my photograph on Christmas day. It can be challenging to take photographs in cold and snowy weather, especially if you have to be careful about staying balanced and not getting your camera wet. However, it's also these types of challenges that can make photography so rewarding, especially since I'm trying to capture a beautiful and unique scene like WALLOWA WINTER. I was able to overcome these challenges and get the shot I wanted and we continued our drive in the country.

It was exciting to download my photos and see what I'd captured, especially since I was hoping it would be something special or unique. I took time to go through my photos carefully and I was able to find the one I felt was particularly valuable. Photography is a creative and rewarding business, and it's always a great feeling when I'm able to capture a shot that I'm really proud of. I've been able to share my prize-winning photograph with others and it brought me joy and satisfaction.

It can be challenging to photograph in snowy conditions, as the white snow can make it difficult to get the exposure right. However, it's great that I was able to persevere and keep shooting despite the challenges I faced. Like slipping into a snowy ditch, snow flying in my face, dropping my camera and hoping I didn't slip and fall. It's always a good idea to take multiple shots of a scene, especially when dealing with moving subjects like the horses and snow. This way, I have a better chance of getting a shot I'm happy with, even if some of the photos don't turn out as well as I hoped. It's always a good idea to keep shooting and experimenting with different settings and compositions, as this can help me improve my photography skills and increase my chances of getting the shot I want.

I didn't show anyone WALLOWA WINTER for a couple years. I really liked it but I'm my own biggest fan. When I did start showing it, my photograph was eventually recognized and appreciated by others. It can be intimidating to share your work with others, especially if you're not sure how it will be received. However, it's important to remember that everyone's taste is different, and what one person might not find appealing, another person might love. It's always a good idea to share my work and see how it is received, as it can be a great way to get feedback and improve my skills as a photographer. My photograph was able to be published in our local photo club's calendar and it won a Christmas card contest, and I sold a print at the Saturday market. It's always satisfying to have my work recognized and appreciated by others. I'm not only a photographer because it's my happy place but I'm a photographer for those who appreciate the art of a photographer.
