My name is Debbie L Lind and I live in Eastern Oregon. I've been a self-taught photographer for over 45 years. My experience has defined me a landscape, flower, and points of interest photographer. Meaning, if I see a deer within my camera range, I'm going to photograph it. The time and place that allows me to tell my story as an artist is where I want to be.

I took a field trip with a few likeminded photographers to GROWISER. The letters stand for Grande Ronde Overlook Wildflower Institute Serving Ecological Restoration. It's located in Eastern Oregon. GROWISER is a special program to protect native plant species and makes it a priority for maintaining biodiversity and preserving the ecological balance of an area. By working to restore the plant species that were present in the area 200 years ago, GROWISER is helping to create a more sustainable and resilient ecosystem.

Keeping up with a conservation area of that size can be challenging, but it's also important for protecting the plants and animals that call the area home. It's great to see organizations like GROWISER taking an active role in protecting and preserving natural habitats.

On that day, I was capturing a landscape of wildflowers on a mountain feeling very gratified to experience that as a photographer. Growing in this field appeared to be an array of wildflowers you may recognize like the yellow Balsam Root and purple Camtasia. Going in late April was an opportunity to showcase the natural beauty of the environment, and to capture a moment in time that may never be repeated in the exact same way again.

I want so much to gain a following that once they see my photograph, they will picture it in their home and feel a connection that gives them a pleasing atmosphere. Bringing someone to my website to view my work as an artist of photography can be difficult, but I hope I can churn their desire to do so. I photograph what inspires me with hopes of it inspiring others.

There is something special about photographing wildflowers on a mountain, as it can be a challenging subject to capture. The changing light, the wind, and the unpredictable nature of the landscape can all make it difficult to get the perfect shot. However, when everything comes together to capture the beauty of the wildflowers, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Hearing the birds sing, insects buzz and feel the breeze softly pass my ears uplifted my day. My sandwich tasted much better as a picnic in a field of flowers, view of mountains beyond the skyline and a blue sky.

Seeing the final result of a successful shoot can also be very gratifying. It can be an opportunity to share the beauty of nature with others, and to inspire them to appreciate the natural world around them. Additionally, looking back on the photos can serve as a reminder of the experience and the joy I felt while capturing it.
Overall, the gratification of capturing a landscape of wildflowers on a mountain comes from the challenge of the shoot, the beauty of the environment, and the ability to share that beauty with others through photography.

I spent hours photographing the wildflowers getting to know them up close and within their environment. I feel I told the story of the results of what GROWISER's mission is in bringing back and nurturing nature as it once was.
