My name is Debbie, and let me tell you, there's nothing quite like the thrill of catching that perfect moment through the lens of my camera. Photography isn't just a hobby for me—it's a passion, a way to capture the beauty and essence of the world around me, and maybe, just maybe, bring a little joy to others in the process.

And as I stood there in front of this truck like a long lost friend with my camera in hand, I couldn't help but think of Johnny Cash's song, where he sings of building his Cadillac piece by piece over thirty years. Like him, I had seized the opportunity to capture something special, something unique, something that spoke to the heart of the American spirit.

Also, when I gazed upon the yellow, green, and red paint adorning the truck, it evoked memories of Dolly Parton's song "Coat of Many Colors." Just like the patchwork quilt of fabric in her story, the hues on the truck's surface told a tale of resilience and resourcefulness, each color representing a chapter in its own unique story.

I don't snap photos to impress anyone else but myself, but when my heart goes pitter patter, I hope I can make someone else's heart do that too.

Now, let me tell you about this old truck I stumbled upon one summer day. It was a hodgepodge of different truck pieces, sitting out in a field like a forgotten relic of days gone by. Every time I drove by on my way to town, it caught my eye, beckoning me to capture its rugged charm before it faded away into obscurity.

But life has a funny way of getting in the way of our plans, and time and time again, I found myself driving past that old truck, kicking myself for not seizing the opportunity when I had the chance.
Then, one summer day, I made a promise to myself—I would photograph that truck, come hell or high water. And you know what? It stuck around long enough for me to capture it in all four seasons.

As I pulled off on the side of the country road, I trekked through ditch of tall weeds. I could feel the anticipation building inside me. The air was alive with the sounds of nature—the chirping of birds, the rustle of leaves in the breeze, the sounds of cars going by.

And there it was, standing tall against the backdrop of rolling hills and endless sky—a colorful patchwork of rust and faded paint, a testament to days gone by. I can't tell you the year, or what parts of steel it's made of but it is a piece of artwork in its own right.

As I approached, I could smell the earthy scent of grass and soil, mingled with the faint tang of country air and the sun warm on my face. I didn't trespass to take this photo but I did lean up against the fence.
I couldn't reach out to touch the weathered surface of the truck, I could only visualize its aged body, imagining the rough texture beneath my fingertips, warmed by the gentle kiss of the sun.

And then, with a click of my camera, I captured the moment—the old truck, a silent sentinel amidst the changing seasons, a symbol of resilience and endurance in the face of time.

It wasn't easy finding the time to photograph that old truck. I had to plan and prioritize, juggling my responsibilities and commitments to make it happen. But in the end, it was worth every moment, every effort, to preserve a piece of history before it faded away.

In the end, that old truck wasn't just a subject for my lens—it was a reminder of the beauty and mystery that surrounds us, if only we take the time to look. And for that, I'll always be grateful.
