I Was Photo Bombed By a Honey Bee

I was set up with my camera in hand ready to photograph those two Cosmo flowers when a honey bee bombed my flowers and I was almost too excited about to get the shot. When something like this happens, I'm not prepared to take that photo. I'm all excited that nature dropped in that I fumble a bit. I need to practice being prepared for the photo bombers.

I don't have a flower garden to brag about but my husband and I grow a few flowers. I was invited to my friend's garden who's sells her flowers and felt privileged she was open to me taking photos of her many different species of her pride and joy. Cosmos are common but they also tell a beautiful story. Photo bombs of bees, spiders, butterflies, and bugs are always a welcome and the timing is perfect. I chose white cosmos and my photo bomb bumble bee to share with you. It was in color and I changed it to black and white and left the bumble bee it its true colors to bring a special charm to the flowers and kept the bumble bee in color so it didn't get lost in the photograph.


Flowers are happy and to show how happy they can make you is my goal with every photo I take. Flowers make humans, insects, landscapes, and even animals joyful by rejuvenating you. Flowers do this by their colors, fragrance, shapes, sizes, grace and they are easy on your eyes. When flowers are given they show that you care. Sadness turns to smiles when spirits are lifted by a bouquet of flowers. Celebrations are gifted with flowers and create an atmosphere of feeling special. With my photos of flowers, no watering needed and they will live forever.


I find my happy place is spending time in a flower garden with my camera catching the fine details of a flower. What does a flower have to do to become who it was meant to be? A lot but we don't have to think about that. Someone else is striving to make sure they grow the perfect flower just for you. But when winter comes along, flowers need a break so sleep a deep sleep so they will be able to shine for you once again. While they're sleeping, I find winter subjects to photograph and sometimes I'll buy fresh flowers at the store for a day of inspiration behind my camera.
