WILDFLOWER WHITE LADY SLIPPER
SCIENCE NAME: CYPRIPEDIUM MONTANUM

Lady Slipper is an iconic wildflower that grows in a protected area of GROWISER which stands for Grande Ronde Overlook Wildflower Institute Serving Ecological Restoration located in Northeastern Oregon. It takes several years for it to grow for the first time.

As an artist, I had the creative freedom to give the flower an alter ego and dress it in a sophisticated light. By giving her(I refer all my flowers as her :) some flare, I added my own artistic touch with techniques, such as adjusting the lighting, colors, and contrast to create a unique and visually striking image. I have a deep appreciation for this wildflower and want to showcase its beauty in a enchanting and captivating way.

The goal was to capture the essence of the Lady Slipper and create an art piece that not only showcases its beauty but also evokes a sense of wonder and admiration but I had a hiccup. I was determined, as an artist, to overcome my setback of forgetting my macro lens. I even prepared for that day the night before and thought all was good until I couldn't find my macro lens. I was sure I packed it as I was changing camera bags. A friend of mine offered her filter that was similar to a macro lens for me to use and she saved my day.

I let my artistic inspiration guide me in creating a stunning representation of the Lady Slipper. I experimented with different approaches and trusted my instincts to capture the essence of the Lady Slipper and bring it to life in a way that reflects my unique vision.
